So, I decided to cut my own hair today. I’ve never thought about a buzz cut before. I was just so exhausted by the complete lack of cohesive leadership running rampant in this country and in our state particularly that I felt compelled to speak out.
I know this is a tough call. I have countless friends in the industries affected by the ‘reopening’ announcement. I also know that most everyone is suffering with little or no support from the government. Well over a month of promised stimulus and I’ve seen exactly $0. I run a small business that has been stopped dead in its tracks as well. No PPP movement on that front either. I also have friends that tested positive for COVID-19, including one who is an ICU nurse. My mom is 79 with an active lung disease. I’m concerned about her health and safety as well. This isn’t an easy situation for any of us to navigate.
To my friends who are going back to work, I understand and realize you’re doing what you have to do in this crazy world. It’s unfortunate the system has degraded to the point that leadership is tenuous at best and the wealth of this nation continues to be siphoned away from the vast majority of us. We are all doing what we have to do.
