Hunger Walk Atlanta 2011

March 13, 2011, people from all over the Atlanta area come together at Turner Field in a show of solidarity to promote the end of hunger in our community.  Hunger Walk/Run is an annual event that brings people from all walks of life together for an afternoon of entertainment, fellowship, and a nice walk through the city. And for the more athletic sort, there is a 5K run as well (don’t worry, I’ll be walking).

My team this year with Hub Atlanta has a goal of raising $1500 for the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB), and my personal goal is $500.  If you have a few bucks to spare today, would you consider donating?

Hunger Walk/Run 2011

I have worked on the Advisory Board of the ACFB for 7 years, and in that time I’ve seen the incredible work the organization has done in the metro Atlanta area. Again and again I’ve heard directly from the partner agencies that benefit from the ACFB’s products and services that they couldn’t do what they do without the Food Bank.  Over 700 community organizations, food pantries, after-school programs, etc. rely on the ACFB to help them fulfill their various missions.

Quick Facts:

  • For every dollar donated, ACFB is able to distribute $7.04 worth of grocery products back into the community
  • 94 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to services in the community to help fight hunger

I have been blessed with an abundant life and I can honestly say there has always been food on the table.  I suspect many people reading this have experienced the same. Today, I hope to utilize this collective abundance to help those who are not as fortunate.  Can you lend your support today?

In Humble Gratitude,

Brandon
